I know I have mentioned on this blog how much my kids (and I) love Jeff Kinney's Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. It was with much glee and anticipation that we recently went to see the movie in the theater. It was funny and we laughed and elbowed each other at the good parts throughout. The best part for me, however, was as we walked out of the theater and the kids told me that although it was great, the book was better. I love when they like the book better!

That IS the best scenario! The same usually goes for me. I'd like to take my daughter to see Beezus and Ramona when it comes out, and I'm secretly hoping she thinks the book is better, too.
Christine,
I used to do a display in the bookstore with movie tie-ins and a sign that said, "The book is always better."
Ginny,
You might want to wait for the reviews. I saw a trailer and that B&R movie looks pretty bad. Stick w/Wimpy Kid and Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Teacherninja, I agree with the book is always better sentiment and the Mr. Fox recommendation. That film adaptation was a treat for the entire family and inspired one of my kids to reread the book and another to read it for a first time.
Like the book very much. I am thinking of making a purchase of it in order to gift my daughter.
Thanks for sharing!
